the most convenient and fabulous accessory

What is the most convenient and fabulous accessory?

The scarf!

Scarves can be beautiful and bold, which means you can wear a classic comfy go-to outfit: a great pair of jeans and a white/black top. Being that it’s fall and there are so many trends to keep up with, scarves are the safest and most fashionable ways to keep up with the trends without spending a fortune. Although your whole look may be basic, a scarf can really elevate your look to the next level. Check out our beautiful scarves that you can buy in store at Blend Fashions and also now ONLINE at blendfashions.com!

Look of the Week over at Blend Fashions

Look of the Week

I hate getting up in the morning
with no idea what I am going to wear.
I end up standing in front of my closet for what seems
like hours as all my clothes seem to blend together,
creating a drab color.

Because I wish I had a daily idea board, I decided to create
the “Look of the Week” post.
Every Monday we will feature an outfit
put together from our store.
Hopefully the posts will inspire you as you start off a new
week.

This week it is all about the tunic.
The striped tunic from 5th Culture is one of my favorite
tops that we have this winter.
The cowl neck is not only a eye-catching detail,
it is flattering on everyone.

The black cords are our new
skinny pants from Free People.
They are very comfortable and have a lot of stretch.

Riding boots are the new fall must have, and these
are the perfect pair to wear over pants and leggings.

Come in this week to see all of our new merchandise!

November Newsletter

Winter is almost here! The mountains are so beautiful with the snow on them. We love to drive up the canyons and do a bit of sledding during the winter. As a mom of 6, I always worry about my girls and myself being warm enough. There are so many fall & winter trends that are so lightweight and neglect to cover enough skin! Our basic line that has our 3/4 length Ts and Long Sleeve Ts are staples that you need to have in your wardrobe. With these Ts, you can stay warm and modest while keeping your outfits fashionable.

Also as a mother of 6, I am looking to save money. Dressing 8 of us can start to add up! My girls have favorite shirts from warmer months that they want to wear during the cold months. Which is why I love the long sleeve basics. They make it so you can wear your wardrobe all year long, which saves money!

My girls and I love heading over to Blend Fashions. It is a clothing boutique off of State Street in Pleasant Grove, Utah. It is SO nice to have a store where both myself and my teenage girls can find things to wear. I love the "Look of the Week" on their blog. It is fun to see what they have before we head on in.

We hope you enjoy your holiday season and have fun picking out your holiday outfits. Don't forget our new MB Clothing line online. All the skirts are pictured in black but we do have some of them in dark blue, white and red. Perfect colors for the holiday season.

Mod Bod Winter Basics

The cold weather is here and it is only going to get more chilly! You need to stock up on our longer sleeved pieces from our Basics Line.

  • Wearing our shirts will give another layer to your outfits for warmth and also help slim out the waistline. When wearing a mod bod basic as a layering piece it does not add bulk. It also lays flat.
  • Stocking up on a few Mod Bod Basics will allow you to extend the REST of your wardrobe. You can layer them under your lighter weight and shorter sleeved items in your closet to make those clothes warm enough for winter. This is a great way to save money and be able to wear your favorite pieces all year long.
  • You will LOVE the look, fit, and feel of these classic shirts! They should become staples in your wardrobe.

Winter Fashion Trend

Winter is almost here! A few months ago we were talking all about the upcoming fall trends. Winter has some of it's own trends as well! Mod Bod ALWAYS goes along with the current trends AND keeps them modest!

Here are some of the winter fashion trends that we can't wait to put to use. Don't forget to pair them with our basics collection to keep them trendy yet modest.

Strong shoulders are a big trend this year and we love them. If done the right way they help women look bold, strong and confident BUT feminine and beautiful at the same time. Having an outfit with strong shoulders is also very slimming to the figure!

No need to feel dreary in the winter when bright bold colors are in! What else would brighten your day than wearing some of these beautiful and flattering colors? We love that the 80's have come back, but a million times better than back then!

What winter styles are you looking forward to wearing this year?

Exciting News!

Skirts are KEY for Fall

Skirts are KEY this fall. We love that these amazingly talented ladies highlighted two types of skirts that we already know look fabulous. So pay attention to this video!

Got it?

1. Pencil skirt, tucked in skirt or fitted cardigan and statement necklace (and with our skirt you DON'T need a trip to the tailor. It really is the perfect fitting skirt).

2. Full skirt (but here at Blend it ISN'T short. It is at the perfect length-even better than short, in our opinion), opaque tights, chunky sweaters/flowy blouse.

3. And with both, of course, a great pair of heels.

Sounds good to us. It's a good thing that we carry BOTH of these skirt trends in a modest, affordable and high quality line- our Belle Skirt and our Pencil Skirt.

Celebrity Look: Pencil Skirt

We just love this celebrity look here at Mod Bod. We think it looks stylish, trendy, modern and modest. It's very glamorous too, and there are so many things you can do with a pencil skirt.

The length and fit of a pencil skirt is great for every body type. It should be a go-to item in your wardrobe!

But who knows how much these outfits cost these celebs? Our Mod Bod pencil skirt is high quality, a wonderful fit and an affordable price at 44.95. It comes in black, khaki and brown in sizes S to XL. You can buy it here.

Flattering Tops

Everyone wants tips on how to become or to appear slimmer! In our last blog post we had Jessica from BlendFashions.com give us some tips on how to dress for your body type. Today we wanted to show off a couple of our favorite outfits and how you can use them to slim down your figure.

The Zoe Puff Sleeve is wonderful for anyone wanting to appear slimmer in the top half of her body. With the wide, low (but not too low!) scoop neck, the Zoe draws attention upwards. Pairing it with a long necklace like the one pictured above is also such a neat slimming trick. Everyone should own this shirt and a necklace like this! The sleeves on this shirt are also slimming because they hit at just the right length. Plus, the detail (puff) at the end of the sleeve draws attention to the detail and away from any upper arm issues you might be worried about.

This Jace Turtleneck is what we all need in order to stay warm this winter! We also want to point out the LENGTH. Sometimes turtlenecks can chop up the body and make the waist appear thicker, but not with our turtleneck. It's length is really what makes it so slimming. It works as a "band" to slim out the waist. (Not to mention it keeps us warm and looking fashionably classic this winter.)

Our Banded Cardigan really is a basic, classic piece you need to have in your wardrobe. It is so versatile! You can pair it will a wide belt to accentuate or create an hourglass figure. If you feel like your body doesn't work well with those kind of belts, you can just wear the cardigan open which will, once again, create a nice illusion of a smaller waist!

Dressing for YOUR Body Type

Top Product Picks

Here at Mod Bod we love anything about fashion and are always excited to find another amazing product that we can share with our customers. We have come up with a great handful of amazing beauty products that we PROMISE you will love.

This Lip Gloss from the Benefit San Francisco line is AMAZING. This is truly a lip gloss that keeps the shimmer and color on your lips all day long. We love the price at $18.00, and our favorite part- it is not sticky in the slightest. Our two favorite shades are Shimmering Raspberry and Golden Nude. It's great to wear alone or over your favorite lipstick color.

What's better than a fantastic hair product that is cheap, can be picked up at your local Walgreens, AND is a secret product that the celebrities use? Nothing! The Pure Shine Spray-On Luminator gives your hair that glossy finish everyone tries to get. It helps with fly aways, frizziness, and keeps hair looking natural and shiny.

Our favorite makeup product right now is Bobbi Brown's Neutral Palette EyeShadows. When you hear the word neutral you might think of boring or dull, but this collection is NOT either of those. It is perfect for weekday makeup and a great collection to wear for something a bit fancier.

Isn't fall just beautiful? We are lucky to live in an area (Utah) that is full of so many canyons to explore! Everyone seems to be doing family pictures right now by the beautiful leaves and I have been noticing a trend in their attire- brown! Brown does go so well with the bright red, yellow, gold and orange leaves. Our new MB Clothing line has the perfect outfits for your fall family pictures.

Bio Wash Method

You may have noticed that the cami and cap sleeve in our new line state that they are BIO WASHED. Now I have had a lot of questions on what exactly this means. So let me explain!

What IS BIO-WASH?

It is a great alternative to those detergents that are full of lots of harmful chemicals. BIO-WASH consists of natural soap suds, natural cloth conditioners, natural color fixers, and natural brightening agents.

What difference does BIO-WASH make?

* Using a BIO-WASH actually makes the shirts quite a bit softer. It is more gentle so it helps clothing have a longer fabric life. Chemical detergents are harsh on your clothes. BIO-WASH also maintains the color, luster, and shine of your clothes much longer than chemical soaps. It also washes your garments amazingly soft and clean.

* Having the shirts BIO-WASHED protects your skin from various ailments such as acne, allergy, eczema, chronic itching, etc. that can be caused by chemicals found in other washes. BIO-WASH is entirely chemical free.

*BIO-WASH maintains and preserves the color of your shirts at a higher level. The color of your clothes will be well protected – in fact colors will now be maintained for a longer period of time.

How does BIO-WASH help the environment?

Using BIO-WASH on our new cap tees and cami helps cut back on hazardous chemicals found in other detergents. This makes a huge impact on the environment by reducing our carbon footprint as a company.

Autumn

We love to celebrate autumn as a family by taking many trips up the canyon to watch the seasonal changes. Don't forget to take the time to celebrate the beauty around you this season!

Here is a collection of some of my favorite pictures of fall and Utah. I've also included a couple of links to wonderful hikes to do as a family in the canyon!

There is a harmony in autumn, and a luster in its sky, which through the summer is not heard or seen, as if it could not be, as if it had not been!
